An Excerpt from the chapter on Binding

The longevity and power are also affected by the size and stability of the bound object. A source bound to a large stone will last much longer, and provide much higher throughput, than that bound to a pebble.
In our experiments, we have seen that each kilogram of weight increases the longevity of the binding exponentially, but the maximum throughput linearly.
In addition, if the bound item is moved, or has been moved recently, the strength of the binding is decreased, and therefore the throughput will diminish at a much faster rate.
These factors account for why bindings such as teleportation circles, which bring their power from the Aether (See Volume 17, Chapter 12 - Aelixian Bindings), or Psychic wards, which source from Falsuth (See Volume 17, Chapter 16 - Miscellaneous Bindings), are only seen scribed into large stone platforms, and do not maintain a binding when moving.
