Session 3 - Across the wall
The party is made aware of Turner’s deathrot.
The only known way to cure respiratory deathrot is to ask the elves.
The party travels towards the wall to find it is rundown.
Within about 15 minutes after crossing the wall they encounter a large silver bear, twice as large as a regular bear, wounded and angry, surrounded by human corpses.
Kaesse whispers at Dewey to make him miss his shot and whispers at Turner to thank her for not killing the bear.
After putting the bear to sleep, they notice a small cave, about 15ft deep, where two silver bear cubs hide.
A group of 6 elves surround the party, equipped with quarter-staves and shortbows. They ask for payment to be allowed any further into the forest. Gold is not accepted.
Upon payment, the party are escorted to an elven village, built in and around a set of large redwood trees. There are no bridges between the trees, instead the elves jump between the platforms.
Upon their arrival a half-elven woman will welcome them to ‘Talasti’, and ask what they want.
They ask questions about a cure, and questions about Arthur.
The woman will notes that they are the new deputies, and shows them to a treehouse where an expert healer lives.
She offhandedly mentions “the arrangement”. When prompted about the arrangement she responds with “That is a not for me to say, only Ylyathid”
They ask who Ylyathid is and she looks concerned and explains who Ylyathid is.
The healer gives them a magic rose to plant, which would heal the townsfolk of the disease.
They then met Ylyathid, who proceeded to talk about how she didn’t know that Arthur was missing, as the eyes of Kaesse were closed at the time.
She explained the arrangement to some extent.
Dewey then pulled out a vial of the silver liquid, to which Ylyathid reacted quite poorly.
She demanded that he give her the vial, without any explanation, and when he refused and Griggor said she had no right, she yelled at him and tried to use her magic to get it.
Unfortunately she was still holding back, and the spells she cast failed.
Eventually she acquired the vial, and communed with Kaesse to give a boon, which was in the form of a mutant bear (a Kaessian gift).
The party returned to town and planted the rose then spilled Turner’s blood into it. It grew into a rosebush and began the process of healing the townsfolk who smelled it’s flowers.
